Hunstead Lectures 2018 – An Introduction to Astroparticle Physics
Hunstead Lectures 2018: “An Introduction to Astroparticle Physics” by Celine Boehm.
Professor Céline Boehm is Head of School of Physics at the University of Sydney,
Prior to her appointment in 2018 she worked around the world previously holding the position of Chair of Physics at the Institute for Particle Physics Phenomenology at Durham University, in the UK, for seven years and academic positions in physics at the Laboratoire d’Annecy-le-Vieux de Physique Théorique in France, CERN in Switzerland, and Oxford University in the UK.
In recognition of her significant contributions to physics and demonstrated impact in her field, Professor Boehm was elected as a Fellow of the Institute of Physics in the UK in 2015.
Professor Bœhm’s is a lead researcher within the Sydney node of the ARC Centre of Excellence for Dark Matter Particle Physics (DMPP) where her work focuses on modelling, data analysis and the interpretation of possible signals. These will bridge theoretical and experimental aspects of the DMPP’s programs, providing insight into what we might look for, as well as how best to search for evidence of dark matter in experimental results.
